What started as a traveling pizza oven, now has a permanent home. The Wood Fired Pizza Shop on the corner of East Cleveland Avenue and Papermill Road in Newark DE proudly opened its doors in 2014 to pizza fans everywhere. You may have seen the red Ford F250 at farmers markets or private parties around northern Delaware in the past, with smoke rising from the wood-burning oven and steaming pizzas coming out of the front. Although the truck has since been retired, the Wood Fired Crew now creates delicious pizzas and homemade food in the shop.
They proudly make their dough from scratch, using unbleached, unbromated flour. Their toppings are sourced locally when available, and organic when possible. Their pizzas ranges from more traditional, classic flavors to inventive, creative combinations. They serve their house-made hot Italian sausage, pickles, and pasta salads (just to name a few) and partner with local farms to provide the freshest produce available.
